The Cobblestone Terrace

The approach sets the tone. An antique reclaimed limestone cobblestone driveway is laid in a fanned circular pattern in front of the house, curving past the lawn where a dry stacked stone wall holds the grade. Behind the house the same material vocabulary continues around the swimming pool, where antique reclaimed limestone coping caps the water's edge and the coursed stone walls that terrace the garden. The terrace itself is laid in reclaimed French limestone, its soft hues running from ivory to golden beige across rectangular and square slabs. At the centre of the gathering space stands a round antique limestone table, its weathered top and turned pedestal base carrying the same patina as the paving beneath it, so the whole garden reads as one continuous surface.
